Mikronesia’s new hour-long ambient work Dissolve is released next Friday, November 10th. But today, you can hear a 2 minute excerpt from the prolific composer’s new music.

Dissolve was recorded and produced during Mikronesia’s recent artist residency at Liebig12 in Berlin. It is intended to be listened to as a still sonic journey lying or sitting down. But it can also be used as a soundtrack to yoga, meditation or inner/outer exploration.

Preview it below and immerse yourself in it fully next week.

We’re really excited to announce the NORESIDENCY release series!

This past Spring we did a residency at Philly’s The Art Dept; early evening, intimate concerts which we also recorded. We’ll be releasing a series of them starting next week, July 15th. They will be pay-what-you-want on Bandcamp, streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and for sale on iTunes and other stores for a very small amount. (Basically making them available in as many ways as possible!)

The schedule is:
July 15th – Beck-Fields (Live)
July 22nd – Starkey (Live)
July 29th – Brian John McBrearty (Live)
August 5th – Attia (Live)
August 12th – Mikronesia (Live)

You can pre-order the first three releases on iTunes now, and receive one of the tracks from the set immediately. Here are the links for:

The third installment of our NOREMIXES NORESIDENCY at The Art Dept. in Philly is Friday, April 22nd.  Mark your calendars!  This month, NOREMIXES’ own Oh! Pears and Mikronesia will be joined by Valley Exit, the new moniker of Jeff Zeigler.

The Art Dept. is a small, intimate venue, so we recommend getting advance tickets.  Doors are at 6:30pm, show is 7:00-9:00pm.  Hope to see you there.

Thanks to a successful Kickstarter (THANKS EVERYONE INVOLVED!) we have pressed Mikronesia’s new album “In a River the Color of Lead” on beautiful 12″ 140g vinyl with full color artwork. It looks and sounds amazing!

You can get this limited edition pressing directly from our site, or via our bandcamp page. (Copies will be shipping around to stores as well.)

If ordered through our site, the vinyl will also ship with a Wav download code to download 16bit, 44.1kHz files of the release. If ordered through bandcamp, you’ll get free streaming through the bandcamp app as well as the digital download of your choosing.

In March, Starkey & Mikronesia gave a NOREMIXES lecture and workshop at the University of Pennsylvania. Here’s a clip of Mikronesia’s performance from that day. Thanks Eugene Lew and the students at UPenn for having us!
